These are the local flavors and twists of Port Townsend, with its rich cultural life of farms, dairies, artists, farmer’s market and food coop. Our aim is to enrich your culinary life by allowing you to dive into diverse world cuisines and discover the wisdom of the world’s kitchens. In just three years we have cooked the foods of India, Peru, Iran, Germany, France, Italy, Japan, Korea, Ethiopia and Turkey to name a few of the wonderful community classes we have enjoyed together. We truly explore globally and act/eat locally.
Each class is dedicated to using what is in season and local to Port Townsend. Our focus is on vibrant, healthy foods and what is translatable into your everyday kitchen life. We care about taste, smell and beauty but never at the expense of your health.
Hands-on, experiential learning is what you will find at FEAST, not some stuffy CHEF who knows it all and will dictate ‘The Way things should be done’. Sidonie our culinary instructor and chef, has twenty years of experience as a teacher and has led diverse groups in collaborative, experiential learning. She is also an intuitive food goddess extraordinaire, who has an artist’s sense of food. You may be changed when you come into her sphere, so watch out!
Every class ends with a sit down feast where we eat what we’ve created together and join in culinary talk with lots of laughter. We invite you to take a class and join our culinary learning community—FEAST.
